Delaware Antique Arms Collectors Association is holding its annual open house at the carpenters union hall on rt 9 in Old New Castle this Sunday from 8AM until 1PM. The club meets once a month for the purpose of swapping antique and collectible firearms, related military memorabilia and knowledge. Once a year we open our doors to anyone who would like to check us out, admission is $4.00 but kids under 12 get in free. Anyone who is interested in becoming a member seek me out, ask a few of the club members where Pete is and they will get you directed to me. There is a lot of old knowledge in this club and anyone who is looking for info about an old firearm that was passed down (or what ever) please feel free to bring it to the club and ask for me and I should be able to get you pointed in the right direction as far as who to talk to. All firearms brought into the club must have action tied open, nylon ties will be provided at the door. No modern handguns or "assault" rifles will be allowed in the club for sale, if you have a particular question on a modern firearm it can be brought into the club but not with the intention to sell it and you might get some flak at the door, if you do ask for me and I will come out and help get it resolved. Modern shotguns and hunting style rifles are permitted. Because to is applicable to DelOC the carry rules are as follows: concealed and loaded is OK, if open carrying the weapon must be action open and tied. Sorry I don't make these rules, as a new board of director for the club I think that given time I will change the clubs position on OC but for now that is the way it is. It would likely help me if some open carry members showed up and politely mentioned that the Nur Temple show allows loaded open carry, it would help plant the seed of change, this is a 52 year old club and this has been the rule from day one so it will take some effort to get it changed. Don't get in a pissing match with the guy at the door though cause he is just gonna come get me to throw you out (cause I'm the guy they have enforcing club policy). I'd rather not chuck an OC member out of the club meet, so help me effect positive change by polity explaining you don't like it but complying. Even if some one wanted to drop some pamphlets off to the guy at the door to send to the board of directors that would be good. Makes it seem less like I am working an agenda when I bring up OC at the BOD meetings. Hope to see a bunch of you there.

I have an old bayonet that I would love to ID, but haven't found anything on it so far. It was in my Grandfather's possession when he passed. I can't make it there due to my deteriorating health issue, but if anyone's planning on going, would you mind taking it with you to see if they can identify it?

If you can get it dropped off to me in the next few days I'd be happy to show it to a couple of guys I would expect to be knowledgeable on it. PM me and let me know what works.

I have a springfield 1903 given to me years ago by the ex; would it be bad form to bring it to gain an opinion as to interest in it and/or its value?

Because of my health, I'm stuck here at home. In addition to losing almost 100 lbs, I've developed a cardiac issue to boot. Even getting home from the ER last night was a real treat. Thank you though, I appreciate your offer.

I'm not 100% sure if we're going yet or not, but if we do, I can swing by and pick it up from you.

Thank you Dave! I'll send a PM with all my contact info. Not sure if it was ever posted on the group contact sheet that went out, as I never received my copy.

SCUBA, bad news. We won't be going to the show today, so I won't be able to take your item along. Sorry.
Good news: My wife has a job interview today, and it's a job she'd LOVE in a great area! (yes, on a Sunday). That's why we can't go....
